Happy Birthday Mya Papaya!

I can't believe it's been seven years since we sat in the Hospital room on November 12th, being told the next morning we were going to deliver a baby by my Brother-In-Law. It's was 8 weeks pre-mature, but we were starting to see the same things happen right before we lost Griffin, and this time we had a doctor that would listen. So it was time. At 7:00 am Mom was in for delivery and I was putting on the scrubs with my sister and Naomi's Sister and then in we went. The doctor had already made the primary cut when I first walked in and I went to the wrong side of the table. What a way to see your wife in a whole new light!

Things went smooth and Mya was delivered, but taken soon after to Cook's Children Hospital for the next 17 days. What an amazing journey it has been!

Happy Birthday Princess! We love you very much.

Summers Over

Well it's been a while since I wrote and so much has changed with the kids, I don't really know where to start. So I will start working on getting updates posted, but let me just say for now. Mya is on to first grade and is really enjoying it and Aidan is starting to walk and talk. It's an exciting time!

Swine Flu? Why such a fuss

As I sit here in Baylor Our Children's House with Aidan during therapy, I really question this whole H1N1 thing. Is it really that big of a deal. They have us quaranteined for the next week. We just sit and wait for the next session while all the others move around us. I really want to thank the Media for over hyping this one... Am I wrong to think this really isn't as bad as it's being made out to be?

Aidan admitted to the hospital

Yesterday I had to rush Aidan to the hospital because he was severely dehydrated. He has been sick since Thursday night. Every feed I had given him had gone right through and he had diahrea within the hour. He was on Pedialyte only, all of yesterday. My parents helped because Matthew was working. My dad took Mya home and watched her while my mom stayed at the hospital. When Matthew came to relieve us from the hospital my mom and I came home to Mya who had been throwing up! So Mya has got the stomach bug that Aidan has. I’ve been able to get enough liquid down Mya that I am feeling good about her recovery but she is still very sick and weak. Needless to say she must stay home tomorrow. Aidan has a bit longer road ahead of him, His kidneys have had some trouble handling the dehydration so he is staying tonight as well and they will re-test his blood work in the morning. We think he is doing really well though at recovering. As far as Baylor I have to see if they will let him come in to the program later in the week. What a crazy weekend!

Aidan is IN!

Well we got some exciting news yesterday. Aidan has been granted a position within Baylor Our Children's House feeding program. It will begin in late April and last four weeks. We will have to attend every weekday from 8-5, however we are hoping for success. A few well placed prayers wouldn't hurt either.

New Month, New Commitment

Well I'm going to really try and get this thing going more often and start sharing more exciting stories, but for now I have added a musical selection and over the next few days will add stories from our trip with Mya and Aidan. Hope you enjoy the music, the first song is one that we used during Griffin's memorial, it's a song that really touches our hearts and got us through his loss. For now work is calling and I have multiple bags to unpack, two kids to attend too and a job that starts again in a few hours. I now know what they mean when they say "I need a vacation from the vacation."

No Worries

Well Aidan did remarkably well and it only took about 15 minutes. They did biopsy a few spots to just check for allergies, but other then that no major issues. Thanks for all the prayers!

Breakdown

Well it seems Aidan's G-button is leaking again, but this was suppose to be semi-permanent. This has resulted in some bad irritation on his skin around the stoma. At the moment they are treating it like Jock Itch with some Anti-Fungal powder, but maybe his GI will prescribe something more effective. Over all the family is in good health with a few sniffs and sneezes. We are getting closer and closer to our date with Ariel and all her friends. Thanks for all of your continued prayers and support this has been a crazy two years and I can't believe we will be celebrating a second birthday in a little over a month.

It's coming fast...

So we are 33 days out from our Make A Wish trip and that doesn't seem like a very long time. I think we have planned enough special activities to make this trip special and now wait for it all to fall in place. I do have a surprise or two in store for the whole family if it all works out, but we shall see. If anyone has any advice for DisneyWorld we would be happy to hear it.
